Monique, a founding Principal at CRA, is an award-winning project manager who has led numerous mobility planning and engineering projects where active transportation and safety play a significant role in recommendation development. As a registered engineer and seasoned mobility planner, or “plan-gineer,” Monique has overseen dozens complex and multidisciplinary projects ranging from active transportation plans, safety studies, mobility elements, corridor studies, transportation impact analyses, operational and demand assessments, and conceptual engineering, as well as master plans and specific plans. Enthusiastic, supportive, and strategic, Monique has amassed a wealth of experience providing active transportation and multimodal planning and engineering leadership and services to both public and private sector clients.
ADAM CHASE
Principal / Executive VP
Adam’s 24 years of experience as an effective leader in active transportation projects have made him a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional in his field. Throughout his career, he has worked on a wide range of projects encompassing walking, biking, roadway and transit infrastructure. He has overseen the design and implementation of bike facilities, pedestrian crossings, intersection safety countermeasures, and NACTO and FHWA Complete Streets elements. Adam’s expertise in project management, coupled with his understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of active transportation, has enabled him to successfully deliver complex projects that meet the needs of all users. His ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and coordinate with other project teams has been a key factor in his success.
Ross Duenas
Principal / VP of Operations
With 18 years of experience managing transportation and public works projects for public agencies, Ross Duenas is a Senior Civil Engineer at CRA. He has led multi-disciplinary projects involving multimodal safety, Complete Streets, park design, traffic calming, and large outdoor pedestrian spaces. Ross’s expertise is frequently utilized by CRA’s active transportation and mobility plans, where he conducts feasibility assessments, develops conceptual designs, and provides accurate cost estimates. Ross is also a significant contributor to CRA safety projects, particularly with his expertise on countermeasure development and cost estimation. Ross has also prepared numerous HSIP grant applications, bringing millions of dollars to local agencies for transportation safety improvements.
SHERRY RYAN
Principal
A founding Principal at CRA, Sherry’s career has been devoted to non-motorized transportation planning ideals focusing on planning, researching, and teaching related to shifting communities away from automobile dependence and toward transit and human-powered travel. She has authored influential transportation planning papers that help transform research into actionable solutions. Passionate about improving mobility for all users, Sherry possesses excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, refined communication capabilities, outstanding public speaking abilities, and an exceptional sense for how to meet clients’ needs.
PhuOng Nguyen
Project Manager / VP of Technology
Phuong is a Senior Transportation Engineer responsible for project efforts ranging from traffic operations, microsimulation, parking plans, VMT/ GHG reduction quantification, to Intersection Control Evaluations (ICE) analysis and conceptual engineering. Phuong is a leader in his profession in the application of Big Data to quantify pandemic/post-pandemic travel behavior and has expertise in TransCAD (4-Step Model), SANDAG’s Activity Based Model, SimTraffic and Vissim microsimulation, Synchro traffic analysis, parking analysis, and transportation equity research. His commitment to excellence and equity in transportation planning and engineering empowers him to assess projects from varied perspectives, ensuring the delivery of optimal solutions and resulting in significant contributions to advancements in traffic analysis. His deep knowledge and passion make him an invaluable asset in the field, capable of bringing innovative and equitable solutions to the forefront of traffic engineering.
