The Northwestern Arkansas Trail Usage Monitoring Plan developed a procedure for monitoring walking and cycling across the 133-mile trail system located in northwestern Arkansas, as well as conducting the first data collection effort in support of understanding usage trends along the trail network.  The Monitoring Plan 52 locations for counting, recommended counting technology, data collection periods, and cost-effective data collection phase.   The siting criteria included consideration of existing and proposed trail facilities, a mix of trail facility types, and a representative combination of factors known to influence active transportation demand, including population density, employment density, and median household income.  CR Associates coordinated with project stakeholders and local agency staff to finalize the set of count locations.
