CR Associates serves as the prime consultant in the preparation of the Palm Avenue Revitalization Plan, which seeks to provide a blueprint for promoting economic development and improving vehicular, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle mobility.  The existing conditions analysis utilized a pedestrian environmental quality index (PEQI) to assess pedestrian facilities, taking into consideration intersection safety, street design, adjacent land uses, perceived safety, and perceived walkability.  Additionally, a bicycle level of stress (LTS) analysis was conducted for the corridor to classify the street network according to the estimated level of stress it causes cyclists, considering a cyclist’s physical separation from vehicular traffic, traffic speeds, number of travel lanes, and factors related to intersection approaches with right-turn lanes and unsignalized crossings.  VISSIM microsimulation was conducted to accurately assess queueing among the study intersections within the Corridor.  The Palm Avenue Revitalization Plan will ultimately result in a set of mobility and urban design recommendations that support a more livable and sustainable environment.
