The US 50 HOV Lanes project is a joint project between Caltrans, FHWA, and SACOG which proposes to widen an existing segment of US 50 in Sacramento County to accommodate the extension of High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in both directions of travel along US 50.  The proposed extension begins at Watt Avenue, where the HOV lanes currently terminate in eastern Sacramento and will run westerly to as far as the I-5 Interchange, under some options. As a part of the project development process, Caltrans is preparing travel demand models and traffic operational models for the US 50 HOV Lane Project and for the relevant alternatives under consideration.  CR Associates helped to develop the project HOV Report and interpret the microsimulation model outputs.
